Commerce
Commerce is only offered to students in Year 9. While the Board of Studies has recently issued a new Draft Syllabus the following information is relevant to the current Syllabus.
Commerce aims to help students understand the people and issues involved in the business of living. Students are able to develop an understanding of the production, distribution and exchange of the goods and services that satisfy needs and wants.
They are expected to be able to recognise that individuals assume many roles in the commercial world, be familiar with the commercial practices and the legal framework. The effect of change, especially in technology is also considered.
