Australian History, Civics & Citizenship
This course is offered to students in Year 10 only and provides them with the opportunity to enhance their sense of historical perspective by studying material and themes relevant to Australia and its people since 1901.
It also aims to help develop skills in -
- oral and written communication
- research
- evaluation of sources
- understanding concepts essential for informed and active citizenship.
Assessments
There are five Assessment tasks which include literacy, research and written items as well as the trial School Certificate examination.
- All students complete the external School Certificate examination in Term 4.
Excursions
- Students must attend the Mandatory Site Study which in the past has been to the Quarantine Station and the North Fort Artillery Museum.
