Australian Geography, Civics & Citizenship
This course is offered in Year 10 only and offers students the opportunity to develop specialised skills, including mapwork and fieldwork. They are exposed to the unique methodology that contributes to and understanding of the world.
Students study material from various themes in order to develop a better understanding of two key dimensions –
- the spatial dimension which focuses on where things are and why they are there and
- the ecological dimension, which considers how humans interact with environments.

- Investigating Australia’s identity
- Changing Australian Environments
- Issues in Australian Environments
- Australia in its Regional and Global Context
Assessment
- There are five assessment tasks including field work, research and test type items such as the Trial SC paper.
- All students complete an external examination in Term 4.
Excursions
- The students attend the Mandatory Field Trip which this year was a Cruise of Sydney Harbour.
