Science
The purpose of the Stage 5 Science course is to:
- provide experiences, including excursions in Science which contribute to the development of students.
- engage students in the process of gaining knowledge of the principles, laws and theories that explain the natural world
- develop the skills that can be used to acquire and refine information about the natural world
- develop a greater understanding and appreciation of the natural world in which we live
- provide some foundation for the study of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Earth & Environmental Science and Senior Science in Years 11 & 12

Assessments
Diagnostics
- At the completion each module there is a diagnostic topic test to enable students and parents to monitor progress.
- In addition to topic tests, a diagnostic worksheet associated with the annual excursion will show the expectations associated with the excursion.
- Students will also carry out an investigative project / assignment as well as a variety of classroom based diagnostic tests.
