The aim of English in Years 7 to 10 is to enable students to use, understand, enjoy, appreciate and reflect on the English language through a variety of texts and to shape meaning in ways that are imaginative, interpretative, critical and powerful.
Through their study of English students develop their critical and imaginative faculties and broaden their critical literacy. As students mastery of English grows, they are able to question, evaluate, challenge and reformulate information.
